The Barkmont provides the finest dog daycare and boarding services in Berkeley and its surrounding communities. We're located at the corner of San Pablo and Pardee in West Berkeley, convenient locally and a few short blocks away from the Ashby and University exits of the I80/580.

We provide dog walking, cat sitting and dog training. We service Norton and Mansfield, MA. Bonded and insured, pet first aid, CPPS, FFCP, CDTK.

Truth is I love dogs! Big, small, furry, bald, stinky or clean I love them all. I will cherish each as my own. I am just staring out and would love to start by walking them, then possible dog sitting in my home. I have owned a bulldog, and cocker spaniel in my life so far. I am pet free at the current time. I have had dogs all my life the 22 years I grew up in The Netherlands. When I moved to San Francisco I felt that this was my calling; working as a professional with and for dogs! I have a psychology degree from The Netherlands, and finished the dog walking course before starting my own business. After that I wanted to learn more about dog psychology and training, so I took an intense course at a training academy. Every day I love my job more. The dogs are so happy and their gratitude makes every day a great day. My main goal is having as much fun with my pack as we can so that they can return home well satisfied from great exercise!

My name is Rachel Reeder and I'm a dog walker, boarder, sitter, and lover based in San Francisco, CA. I've combined by lifelong love for dogs and nature into 1 job. I'm a Certified Dog Walker and CPR & First Aid Certified through TopDogSF. When working with dogs, I use evidence-based force-free methods based on positive reinforcement. I bring fun, compassion, patience, and safety to every interaction I have with your pet! My business started in 2013 in Cole Valley but I also offer my services in the surroundings areas. I have excellent references and I can provide them upon request. My walks consist of small groups (usually three dogs at a time) with different schedules according to what it is requested. We go for a 60-minute walk after each dog is picked up. This gives them time to do their business, exercise and socialize with other dogs.

I have an extensive background in the shelter and rescue world, and am also very passionate about purebred dogs, breed-specific behavioral traits, and helping urban dogs find activities that ignite their genetic strengths and talents. I am proud to use only rewards-based, motivational training methods. I train in a way that is fluid, exciting, and highly engaging, ensuring that every dog I work with WANTS to learn. My special areas of interest include puppy development, leash skills, reactivity, fears and sensitivities, cooperative care, scentwork, and general household skills.
