After nearly 30 years teaching high school, I retired to work with animals. I am certified through Animal Behavior College as a Dog Walker, Pet Sitter, and Zookeeper Assistant. I am also a Certified Dog Trainer through Petco. I have two small dogs, a 12-year-old Spitz and a 3-year-old Border Terrier. I’ve been a pet mom for the past 25 years of both dogs and cats. I have also owned fish, mice, hamsters, and a rat. I LOVE animals, and I will care for yours as my own.

We are a San Francisco-based dog walking service. We'll take your dog on trail hikes in nature, allow them the opportunity to socialize with a familiar pack, and participate in enrichment activities that will help make for a holistically happy and healthy hound. We use positive reward-based training first and foremost, and we work with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages. We also specialize in working one-on-one to help dog owners manage leash reactivity.

The Fairy Dogfather is a certified dog trainer and behavior consultant who offers on-leash walks for San Franciscan dogs facing stress, reactivity, or heightened arousal. My approach is compassionate and rooted in the force-free and positive reinforcement movements. We go beyond a simple walk to create an empathetic and educational experience for your dog. Using applied behavior analysis and trauma-informed practices, I teach coping skills to reduce stress, improve self-regulation, and enrich their lives. In 2022, I started this company to help heal the void I had in my heart after losing my precious fur baby Mia. At that time I was not ready to bring another dog into my life and caring for animals has really helped fill that empty space in my heart. Seeing my furry friend clients happy brings me so much joy and this truly is my passion. Specializing in solo R+ walks, on leash (long lead) for dogs experiencing reactivity and animal communication techniques to assist in understanding your dogs behavioral patterns and individual needs. This approach leads to an outcome of people who feel confident and safe navigating the world with their dogs. Walks are enrichment focused allowing them to use their brain and senses to unwind. For my clients who are actively working with an R+ trainer I am in regular contact with that trainer to support you and your dog’s training journey. I’ve been working with dogs as a hobby for over 20 years. I grew up training my first dog in both obedience and agility, and I currently have three rescue dogs of my own. I love dogs, cats, and critters of all kinds! Wondering about the name? Gambit was one of my former dogs who has since crossed the rainbow bridge. Whenever she was being naughty, I would jokingly say “dog Gambit!” to her.
