Midtown Mutts is a team of dog trainers and dog walkers servicing the Sacramento region. We offer private training sessions, group dog classes, day training and behavior modification and consulting, as well as in home dog walking and pet care. Our team is dedicated to providing kind, compassionate care and values implementing training and handling techniques that are humane and supported by the behavior science community.

I specialize in using reward-based techniques to help families with dogs that are considered difficult, whether it is dog-dog aggression, resource guarding, aggression towards humans, reactivity to objects, noises, fearful/shutdown dogs. I also work with dogs that have had a bite history. In addition, I have a SmartPuppy Program that helps you grow puppies into smart, confident dogs and prevent many issues rather than fix them later. I use games, toys and food to train with fun and kindness.

Hi! I’m a positive reinforcement dog trainer! I am CPDT-KA certified as well as having 2 college degrees in canine science and assistance dog education (service dogs!). My passion is dog training and I’m able to help you and your dog work through behavioral issues like excessive barking, pulling on leash, recall. If you just got a puppy I absolutely adore teaching fundamental basic life skills, obedience, potty training and more! I am also able to do service dog and therapy dog training.

Great Companions offers force-free, positive reinforcement training, mostly using the clicker, to help people and their dogs develop great communication skills and trust. In addition to private lessons, Great Companions offers classes in Puppy Manners, Foundations, Advanced Manners, Canine Good Citizen, Rally, Agility, Scent Work, Reactive Dog Class, Tricks, Treiball, Confidence Building, Parkour, and other specialty classes. After nearly 30 years teaching high school, I retired to work with animals. I am certified through Animal Behavior College as a Dog Walker, Pet Sitter, and Zookeeper Assistant. I am also a Certified Dog Trainer through Petco. I have two small dogs, a 12-year-old Spitz and a 3-year-old Border Terrier. I’ve been a pet mom for the past 25 years of both dogs and cats. I have also owned fish, mice, hamsters, and a rat. I LOVE animals, and I will care for yours as my own.
