Kate Johnson is a professional Dog Trainer with a very simple philosophy. Positive reinforcement, science based training and behavior solutions strengthen your relationship with your dog and develop a more confident, happy and well-behaved pup. We offer convenient, custom, in-home training. All animals involved in the process experience the benefits, including the humans!

The Life of Kai is a 501-c3. Our vision is to have fewer displaced dogs in the shelters and more pets in the homes. We hope to reach our goal through several programs. Humane education teaches empathy to build a kinder and compassionate generation. Training and dog behavior books based on science are available to the public with free and easy access. Coaching new adopters and guardians and teaching pet dogs to co-exist through better understanding of canine behaviors. Working pro-bono with rescues and fosters to make rescued dogs more adoptable and supporting a foster-centric community by creating a foster registry.

Specializing in Puppies and Adolescent Dogs, I offer guidance and specific techniques for all your companion's needs - from basic training to life skills practice. I am a Positive Reinforcement Trainer, Certified through the Council for Professional Dog Trainers.

HFDT offers force-free, reward-based dog training from puppy I to adult reactive "aggressive" dogs. I work with ALL ages, sizes and breeds and tailor classes to promote demonstrable learning, real life skills and a happy dog.

We may get nostalgic for the ‘old days’, but when it comes to dog training we’re sure glad that some things have changed. Our understanding of animal behavior has grown a lot over the years, transforming the way we think about dog training. Shake It Off approaches training with a modern, choice-driven, compassionate methodology that is grounded in the science of behavior. It’s no trick —we owe our success to positive-reinforcement and rewards-based techniques that are free from pain, force and intimidation. I have been a professional dog trainer in NYC for 15 years. As a child, I participated in dog agility and showmanship through 4-H and won several local and state competitions. I began my path to become a trainer by receiving a certification from the vocational school, Animal Behavioral College. When I began to hit a wall in my self-education four years ago, I enrolled in CUNY's Psychology program, and will be graduating May, 2025 with honors with an interdisciplinary BA in Animal Psychology and Creative Writing. I am currently volunteering as a Research Assistant for the Center for Canine Behavioral Studies, as well as assisting in a lab at Hunter studying Pandas. I am also a PPG member.

We provide dog walking, cat sitting and dog training. We service Norton and Mansfield, MA. Bonded and insured, pet first aid, CPPS, FFCP, CDTK.
