The Life of Kai is a 501-c3. Our vision is to have fewer displaced dogs in the shelters and more pets in the homes. We hope to reach our goal through several programs. Humane education teaches empathy to build a kinder and compassionate generation. Training and dog behavior books based on science are available to the public with free and easy access. Coaching new adopters and guardians and teaching pet dogs to co-exist through better understanding of canine behaviors. Working pro-bono with rescues and fosters to make rescued dogs more adoptable and supporting a foster-centric community by creating a foster registry.

I have loved animals all my life and feel a connection to dogs in particular. I have been training dogs professionally for 25 years and have been active in the rescue/shelter world for 30 years. I teach owners how to work with their dogs in a positive, fear-free environment and enhance the bond they have with their dog through consistent feedback and reinforcement. I work with dogs of all ages and breeds and have extensive knowledge with dogs that have behavioral concerns. On the flip side, I become the student when I attend workshops and seminars to learn new training methods. The field of animal behavior continues to evolve as well as our understanding of how animals learn.

Newman's Dog Training, Walking and Pet Sitting has been serving the Kansas City Metro since 2011. Owner, Jena Newman, is a former zookeeper who trained exotics like elephants, sea lions, gorillas and more. After her time at the KC Zoo she decided to take her training into dog clients homes and created NDT. We specialize in private dog training and online classes only using positive reinforcement methods. We also offer dog walking and pet sitting in Kansas City.

One client at a time 🐶🐱🦆 As a Fear Free Veterinary and Shelter pets certified animal care professional, my services cater to pets with medical, behavioral, and cognitive needs, including anxiety, PTSD, depression, mood disorders, epilepsy, visual impairment, and specific behavior management requirements. I volunteer at the SF SPCA Shelter Medicine, specializing in shelter pets that require medical attention and care in stressful conditions. My responsibilities include administering oral medication, medical baths, physical therapy, and grooming.
