I am a certified professional dog trainer (CPDT-KA, ADB-CCBC, CSAT). My goal as a trainer is to always empower guardians to create strong relationships with their dogs based on clear communication, deep rooted connection and cooperation. I truly believe that this allows the dog to become a more mindful thinker. I use force-free, science-based, positive reinforcement training methods that yield terrific results. I am always expanding my education in the field to bring new, practical techniques to my clients. My hope is that I help create harmonious homes for all dogs and pet parents!

Julia is a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP), having graduated with distinction. She specializes in helping anxious, fearful, or reactive dogs feel safer and more confident through gentle, science-backed, in-home behavior support. Instead of obedience drills, I focus on understanding emotions, building trust, and creating real-life behavior change that lasts. Her approach blends empathy, practicality, and fun, providing quick wins and effective strategies to help families and dogs thrive. We strive to provide a comprehensive approach that combines an understanding of applied animal behavior, genetics, the dog's history, the impact of health and nutrition, and the dog's needs to provide realistic solutions to behavior problems. We aim to empower individuals to understand, train, and care for their dogs in a compassionate and cooperative manner. We believe that educating our clients is as much a part of training as working with their dogs. We are committed to pursuing ongoing education to ensure we are using the most humane, effective techniques.

Annie Phenix, ACB- KSA, has achieved many certifications including Certified Canine Behaviourist (INTODogs), CPDT-KA (Retired), Fear Free Certified Professional, Graduate of a Schutzhund Dog Academy, CGC Evaluator, Nose Work Instructor and many other. She is a best-selling canine author and canine behavior expert. She belongs to several professional organizations such Pet Industry Advocacy International, the UK Dog Charter, and the International Companion Animal Network. She is a lifetime advocate of training dogs without the need for fear, force, or pain and with compassion and science-backed methods. She owns Choose to Train Humane.

Our expert and qualified team offer dog, puppy and rescue dog training and behaviour in Cheltenham and surrounding areas. We offer personalised 121's, solo training walks, online dog training, and we have a range of free dog training resources on our website. With over 20 years of experience between us, you are in safe hands with all your dog training needs. We only use positive reinforcement training and we are completely force free.

We are about community. Everyday we strive to make something better in serving our clients and their dogs. Julia, the business owner, is passionate about dogs and their care. This will be our 27th year of serving our San Francisco community. We offer dog walking, off leash adventures. Daycare and dog boarding. Our daycare and boarding is based out of my 2,500 sq ft home, with a large backyard. We love what we do. We use only force free, R+ training methods. All of our staff are employees and we provide health, dental and retirement benefits.
