My business name was chosen because that is what we're working with in order to help every dog- the inner dog, their brain. I've been helping dogs and their human companions for 17 years. I have been privileged to work with many dogs who, presenting with a wide variety of challenges, have taught me so much, each leaving me with a legacy to pass on in helping other dogs. Creating trust allows us to teach skills, change behaviors, thus creating that special partnership between our canine friends and their human companions.

Our mission at The Cooperative Canine, LLC is to foster a harmonious relationship between people and their canine partners. We strive to provide a comprehensive approach that combines an understanding of applied animal behavior, genetics, the dog's history, the impact of health and nutrition, and the dog's needs to provide realistic solutions to behavior problems. We aim to empower individuals to understand, train, and care for their dogs in a compassionate and cooperative manner. We believe that educating our clients is as much a part of training as working with their dogs. We are committed to pursuing ongoing education to ensure we are using the most humane, effective techniques.

Steph trains everyone to meet dogs where they are! She utilizes force free techniques, whether dogs need a little extra help feeling safe, learning how to play with other dogs, learning how to trust people, or just plain making sure they get their exercise while they are out and about (and coming back when called!) She strives to help people learn how to understand their dog while cutting down on undesirable behaviors. Steph has a particular soft spot for all guard dog breeds, from shepherds to bullies, and especially enjoys working with them. One client at a time 🐶🐱🦆 As a Fear Free Veterinary and Shelter pets certified animal care professional, my services cater to pets with medical, behavioral, and cognitive needs, including anxiety, PTSD, depression, mood disorders, epilepsy, visual impairment, and specific behavior management requirements. I volunteer at the SF SPCA Shelter Medicine, specializing in shelter pets that require medical attention and care in stressful conditions. My responsibilities include administering oral medication, medical baths, physical therapy, and grooming. I am training to become a handler in events focused on tracking and retrieval, scent work, and search and rescue. Thank you for considering.
