In 2022, I started this company to help heal the void I had in my heart after losing my precious fur baby Mia. At that time I was not ready to bring another dog into my life and caring for animals has really helped fill that empty space in my heart. Seeing my furry friend clients happy brings me so much joy and this truly is my passion. Hi there! My name is Erik Grow and I've been a dog care professional since 2008, having first worked for other pet care businesses in Marin and San Francisco. I have owned and operated The Good Life Dog Care since 2012, with a sabbatical from 2019 to 2021. I put the safety of your pets above all other concerns, followed next by exercise and socialization. We do a mix of off-leash and on-leash walking so as to make sure all the dogs get enough exercise. It's important to know that your dog is having a good time, so I take pictures and videos during the walk to share on our Instagram page. I started working in the pet care industry after I took in my grandfather's dog, Roxie. I worked in a small local pet shop, Sunset Pet Supply from 2014 - 2016. I learned all about animal nutrition and wellness. Then I moved into a dog walking position 2017 - 2018. I loved the dog walking so much, I decided to move on and start my own business. I wanted to be able to do more work to help the dogs and their pawrents!

Dog Grrl was started in 1997 by owner and operator Jenny Test. Dog Grrl thrived and grew into a doggie daycare space in San Francisco that offered small dog daycare, puppy socials with classes with Smarty Pup and a BnB style boarding facility in Healdsburg California. As the business grew so did the desire to help dogs overcome their fears and anxieties so Jenny went to the Academy for Dog Trainers offered at the SPCA and taught by Jean Donaldson.
