Dog Grrl was started in 1997 by owner and operator Jenny Test. Dog Grrl thrived and grew into a doggie daycare space in San Francisco that offered small dog daycare, puppy socials with classes with Smarty Pup and a BnB style boarding facility in Healdsburg California. As the business grew so did the desire to help dogs overcome their fears and anxieties so Jenny went to the Academy for Dog Trainers offered at the SPCA and taught by Jean Donaldson. Diane Corso of Prosh Pets offers small off-leash playgroups at dog-friendly parks twice daily, as well as dog sitting in the client's home for regular playgroup clients. She was certified back in 2013 by Dog*Tec (now Dog*Biz) and is current on Pet First Aid. Additionally, she teaches certification classes for San Francisco Dog Walkers.

I have always loved animals and since I could remember I was wanting to work alongside animals. My first job when I was just 16 was working in an animal clinic. While I learned a lot and had many experiences, it was a little sad that most of these animals were sick. My introduction to walking dogs professionally came from my employment with A Girl and Your Dog.

I have been a dog walker, sitter and have boarded dogs for over four years. I have taken care of senior dogs, large breed dogs, puppies and adolescents. I volunteered at an animal shelter where I took many dog handling workshops and am Fear Free certified and first aid CPR certified. I use a positive reinforcement, partnership based, compassionate tuning in approach when walking or otherwise interacting with dogs. I strive to meet the physical and emotional needs of animals through sufficient attention, affection, exercise, and exposure to nature.
