Joyful Dog works one-on-one and in group classes with people and their dogs, teaching fun ways to live together with force-free tools and techniques for creative communication. We provide training in basic manners, behavioral problem-solving, puppy socialization, and a variety of special interests. Our positive approach includes Connection, Cooperation, and Control™, a curriculum founded on Suzanne Clothier’s Relationship Centered Training techniques, and Tellington TTouch® methods of body work and movement, to help dogs achieve physical and behavioral balance. Specializing in solo R+ walks, on leash (long lead) for dogs experiencing reactivity and animal communication techniques to assist in understanding your dogs behavioral patterns and individual needs. This approach leads to an outcome of people who feel confident and safe navigating the world with their dogs. Walks are enrichment focused allowing them to use their brain and senses to unwind. For my clients who are actively working with an R+ trainer I am in regular contact with that trainer to support you and your dog’s training journey. Heidi started swiShing tails dog training in 2019, bringing 8 years of experience of working with dogs. Heidi provides walking in SF, and boarding and training in SF & the peninsula. She also teaches agility, and competes with both her border collie and beagle in agility and rally. She only uses positive reinforcement and science-based methods in dog training and walking, which is why her canine clients are always excited to go out and play.

Kayla Block, MA, CTC, founded Understanding Dog Training to help people and dogs understand each other better. Kayla is a graduate of the prestigious 2-year program at The Academy for Dog Trainers. Her business is focused on fear and aggression and she has a special heart for fearful dogs and leash reactivity.

With 15 years of experience as accredited positive reinforcement trainers, we provide clients with integrative dog training and behavior modification services. Our mission is to share our knowledge, experience and passion for dogs with our clients so they and their dogs can develop a mutually loving and respectful relationship which contributes to the well-being of both. We are a fear-free certified practice. We offer fear-free grooming, puppy grooming training, and behavior consulting including behavioral modification for scared dogs. Our founder is a CBCC-KA (Certified Behavior consultant-canine) certified by the CCPDT, as well as a IAABC member. Dogs are family to us.
