Hi, there! I am a CPDT-KA credentialed, Fear-Free Certified dog trainer living and practicing out of San Francisco. I have an extensive background in the shelter and rescue world, and am also very passionate about purebred dogs, breed-specific behavioral traits, and helping urban dogs find activities that ignite their genetic strengths and talents. I am proud to use only rewards-based, motivational training methods. I train in a way that is fluid, exciting, and highly engaging, ensuring that every dog I work with WANTS to learn. My special areas of interest include puppy development, leash skills, reactivity, fears and sensitivities, cooperative care, scentwork, and general household skills.

I volunteer at the SF SPCA Shelter Medicine, specializing in shelter pets that require medical attention and care in stressful conditions. My responsibilities include administering oral medication, medical baths, physical therapy, and grooming. Alyssa got her start pet-sitting then moved into working at a boarding and daycare facility managing play groups and taking dogs for off leash hike. She got a taste for dog behavior and never stopped seeking more knowledge. Alyssa has worked within the shelter world for upwards of 5 years, educating the public, the volunteers and the staff on safe animal care, animal welfare and enrichment and basic training principles. She enjoys working with dogs as they transition into new families or work through fear and confidence issues. Alyssa is very familiar with behavior challenges like fear, reactivity and aggression.

Starting Compassionate Canine is the realization of a lifetime of being in connection with animals. Kelly’s focus when opening Compassionate Canine Training was to utilize positive reinforcement (R+) training to solve the frustrations of families living with challenges of daily distractions. Working with you in your home, yard and neighborhood,, she is able to train your dog in the things most important for YOU. Together, we will cover all the basics of obedience training while focusing on your specific behavioral concerns.

These prices includes pick up and drop off within radius: -30 minute walk for $35 (each additional dog per household is $20) -60 minute walk for $65 (each additional dog per household is $20) These prices DON'T include pick up and drop off: -30 minute walk for $25 (each additional dog per household is $15) -60 minute walk for $45 (each additional dog per household is $15) You can drop off at 1540 Hudson Street in RWC If you'd like to add daycare, there would be an additional fee of $40 per day (max of 5 hours).

Emily has been working in San Francisco as a certified dog trainer and walker for 15 years. She offers group walks for dogs who enjoy being around other dogs and people. She is experienced in helping with basic obedience and puppy training, as well as behavioral concerns, fear and aggression.
