In 2011, Walkin’ the Dog SF opened for business in San Francisco to provide private walks on leash in clients’ neighborhoods. After many years of tackling hills, my knees have convinced me to change the focus of my business to assist clients who have dogs with separation anxiety. I am available to stay with dogs in their homes when their family members need to go to work, go to medical appointments, and/or take care of everyday responsibilities away from home. I pet sit for some clients on a fixed schedule, but I also have flexible hours.

Hello! My name is Paul and my dog walking business, The Perfect Pooch, is an owner operated dog walking business established in 2002. I offer force-free group outings to the Walter Hass Dog Park which is an enclosed dog park located in Diamond Heights. I currently have two groups, one in the late morning and one in the afternoon. The main focus of my dog walking business is to make sure that all my clients dogs experience fun & safe playtime each day. I provide equal attention to all of my clients dogs and make sure that they are well taken care of as if they were my own personal dogs. Specializing in solo R+ walks, on leash (long lead) for dogs experiencing reactivity and animal communication techniques to assist in understanding your dogs behavioral patterns and individual needs. This approach leads to an outcome of people who feel confident and safe navigating the world with their dogs. Walks are enrichment focused allowing them to use their brain and senses to unwind. For my clients who are actively working with an R+ trainer I am in regular contact with that trainer to support you and your dog’s training journey. Dogs love me, and I love them. I've had dogs my whole life. Whether it's for a walk or an extended stay, I will treat your dog as though they're my own. We take long walks and go to the park daily. At home, they can use the fenced yard while supervised, but typically they're too tired and just want to relax and sleep. There are dog beds, bowls, toys, and a small crate. To develop strong bonds with the dogs, form cohesive packs, and ensure they get plenty of exercise, we do not use a car. We explore San Francisco on foot as we visit the local off leash dog parks. Once Upon a Dog Walk is a professional dog walking service for busy, urban, dog owners. Group walks last for a minimum of 90 minutes on the ground. Depending on the order of pickup and location, your pup will be out of the house between 2 - 4hrs. We are licensed and insured in the city of San Francisco and look forward to taking your pup on romps on our coastal trails and beaches!
