After nearly 30 years teaching high school, I retired to work with animals. I am certified through Animal Behavior College as a Dog Walker, Pet Sitter, and Zookeeper Assistant. I am also a Certified Dog Trainer through Petco. I have two small dogs, a 12-year-old Spitz and a 3-year-old Border Terrier. I’ve been a pet mom for the past 25 years of both dogs and cats. I have also owned fish, mice, hamsters, and a rat. I LOVE animals, and I will care for yours as my own.

I have had dogs all my life the 22 years I grew up in The Netherlands. When I moved to San Francisco I felt that this was my calling; working as a professional with and for dogs! I have a psychology degree from The Netherlands, and finished the dog walking course before starting my own business. After that I wanted to learn more about dog psychology and training, so I took an intense course at a training academy. Every day I love my job more. The dogs are so happy and their gratitude makes every day a great day. My main goal is having as much fun with my pack as we can so that they can return home well satisfied from great exercise!

My business started in 2013 in Cole Valley but I also offer my services in the surroundings areas. I have excellent references and I can provide them upon request. My walks consist of small groups (usually three dogs at a time) with different schedules according to what it is requested. We go for a 60-minute walk after each dog is picked up. This gives them time to do their business, exercise and socialize with other dogs.

Lynda Mortensen, the owner of Bay Area Pet Pals, has been a small business owner for over 26 years. Her love of animals has remained with her throughout her childhood and prompted her to learn various pet care techniques and how to administer pet first aid. Lynda has opened her heart to adopt many pets over the years and she loves helping other pet owners care for their own pets. She trains each Pet Pal employee to follow specific guidelines. You will never have to worry about re-schedules due to sickness or vacations – there is always an equally trained Pet Pal available to ensure that every appointment and pet visit is covered. Hi there! My name is Erik Grow and I've been a dog care professional since 2008, having first worked for other pet care businesses in Marin and San Francisco. I have owned and operated The Good Life Dog Care since 2012, with a sabbatical from 2019 to 2021. I put the safety of your pets above all other concerns, followed next by exercise and socialization. We do a mix of off-leash and on-leash walking so as to make sure all the dogs get enough exercise. It's important to know that your dog is having a good time, so I take pictures and videos during the walk to share on our Instagram page.
