We are about community. Everyday we strive to make something better in serving our clients and their dogs. Julia, the business owner, is passionate about dogs and their care. This will be our 22nd year of serving our San Francisco community. Our daycare and boarding is based out of my 2,500 sq ft home, with a large backyard. We love what we do. We use only force free, R+ training methods. All of our staff are employees and we provide health, dental and retirement benefits.

Lynda Mortensen, the owner of Bay Area Pet Pals, has been a small business owner for over 26 years. Her love of animals has remained with her throughout her childhood and prompted her to learn various pet care techniques and how to administer pet first aid. Lynda has opened her heart to adopt many pets over the years and she loves helping other pet owners care for their own pets. She trains each Pet Pal employee to follow specific guidelines. You will never have to worry about re-schedules due to sickness or vacations – there is always an equally trained Pet Pal available to ensure that every appointment and pet visit is covered. Dreamer Dogs offers private coaching sessions for you to learn how to train your dog, and day training programs, where we start the training for you and then transfer the skills back to the owner.

I was certified as a CPDT-KA and taught basic and intermediate skills in group classes for 17 years. Since the pandemic, I work with dog owners privately. I am a strong believer in the efficacy of positive reinforcement and continuously educate myself to strengthen my understanding of dog behavior. Teaching practicable solutions for impulse control related issues like jumping, excessive barking, leash pulling, etc are just the beginning of helping to create good communication and a strong bond between the dog and their families.
