Emily has been working in San Francisco as a certified dog trainer and walker for 15 years. She offers group walks for dogs who enjoy being around other dogs and people. She is experienced in helping with basic obedience and puppy training, as well as behavioral concerns, fear and aggression.

I started a professional dog walking business in San Francisco, CA in the summer of 1992. I walked dogs and boarded dogs in San Francisco for 27 wonderful years. At the end of 2019, I made the decision to move out of San Francisco and move back to the East Bay, where I was born and raised. In 2020, I moved to beautiful Castro Valley and now I am boarding dogs ( small dogs only ) out of my home. I have a lovely park-like backyard, complete with its own "dog park" (synthetic lawn). I rescued a shelter dog in the middle of the pandemic. He is a 15 pound mixed breed dog named Fonzie. Fonzie gets along great with all dogs. I am licensed, bonded and insured.

In 2011, Walkin’ the Dog SF opened for business in San Francisco to provide private walks on leash in clients’ neighborhoods. After many years of tackling hills, my knees have convinced me to change the focus of my business to assist clients who have dogs with separation anxiety. I am available to stay with dogs in their homes when their family members need to go to work, go to medical appointments, and/or take care of everyday responsibilities away from home. I pet sit for some clients on a fixed schedule, but I also have flexible hours.

I started dog sitting after noticing a gap in the market. Daycares juggling numerous clients at can’t possibly cater to each dog’s unique needs. I commit to ONE dog at a time and providing individualized, structured care. Your dog will never be subjected to yelling, yanking, or punishing. I lead with compassion and gentleness - an approach they deserve. I provide care at my residence, offering 24/7 supervision for SA pups, exercise, and frequent photo updates. Currently, I watch dogs ~50lbs and under based on space limitations. Pit bull type dogs/mixes welcome. I have always loved animals and since I could remember I was wanting to work alongside animals. My first job when I was just 16 was working in an animal clinic. While I learned a lot and had many experiences, it was a little sad that most of these animals were sick. My introduction to walking dogs professionally came from my employment with A Girl and Your Dog.

Nancy started taking dogs to the beach and on day hikes when she and husband Pearce moved from Skylonda to Menlo Park. With degrees in Psychology, Parent Education and Early Childhood Education Nancy is capable of using learning theory as is applies to humans as well as dogs. Trained in Behavioral Psychology and professional dog pack management, Nancy is also certified in Pet CPR and First Aid and is a graduate of DogBiz Professional dog walking.
