Hi, I'm Laela! My aim is to facilitate connection, understanding, and skills for dogs and their people. I focus on pet dogs who need help to get along in today's modern society, from potty training to impulse control to reactivity and more!

My business name was chosen because that is what we're working with in order to help every dog- the inner dog, their brain. I've been helping dogs and their human companions for 17 years. I have been privileged to work with many dogs who, presenting with a wide variety of challenges, have taught me so much, each leaving me with a legacy to pass on in helping other dogs. Creating trust allows us to teach skills, change behaviors, thus creating that special partnership between our canine friends and their human companions.

I train by playing games and creating patterns to give the dog a sense of predictability and to create a strong reinforcement history for handler interaction. Jessica Ring is the owner of My Fantastic Friend, LLC. Jessica helps you bring out the best in your dog for a happier life together. She strives to provide the most effective, efficient, humane and up-to-date training solutions to her human and canine clients. Jessica offers private and group training for puppies, basic skills, tricks and enrichment, as well as consultations for behavior problems and separation anxiety. Online options are available. Once Upon a Dog Walk is a professional dog walking service for busy, urban, dog owners. Group walks last for a minimum of 90 minutes on the ground. Depending on the order of pickup and location, your pup will be out of the house between 2 - 4hrs. We are licensed and insured in the city of San Francisco and look forward to taking your pup on romps on our coastal trails and beaches!

A graduate of the Dog Training Internship Academy - a comprehensive program that provided me with a thorough understanding of animal behavior & learning and focused on the use of science-based training techniques to change both a dog's behavior and a dog's underlying emotional state that may be driving undesirable behavior. I'm also certified by The Certification Council of Pet Dog Trainers. This requires that I have a minimum of 300 hours of experience; references from a veterinarian, client, and colleague(s); and have passed a comprehensive examination testing my knowledge of learning theory, canine ethology, animal husbandry, classroom management, and teaching techniques.
