In 2011, Walkin’ the Dog SF opened for business in San Francisco to provide private walks on leash in clients’ neighborhoods. After many years of tackling hills, my knees have convinced me to change the focus of my business to assist clients who have dogs with separation anxiety. I am available to stay with dogs in their homes when their family members need to go to work, go to medical appointments, and/or take care of everyday responsibilities away from home. I pet sit for some clients on a fixed schedule, but I also have flexible hours.

I specialize in using reward-based techniques to help families with dogs that are considered difficult, whether it is dog-dog aggression, resource guarding, aggression towards humans, reactivity to objects, noises, fearful/shutdown dogs. I also work with dogs that have had a bite history. In addition, I have a SmartPuppy Program that helps you grow puppies into smart, confident dogs and prevent many issues rather than fix them later. I use games, toys and food to train with fun and kindness.

My name is Irith (pronounced "Ee-reet") and I'm a certified professional pet and people trainer. My job is to help people create an environment where their pet has lots of good options, and almost always makes the right choices. Pets who are empowered to make their own choices are happier and more relaxed. Pets who make the right choices are a pleasure to live with. I’m an expert in making that happen. Emily has been working in San Francisco as a certified dog trainer and walker for 15 years. She offers group walks for dogs who enjoy being around other dogs and people. She is experienced in helping with basic obedience and puppy training, as well as behavioral concerns, fear and aggression.

I have been Providing Dog walks since 2015 and I have been affiliated with dogs (daycare & vet clinics) since 2010. Bay City Paws provides off leash walks around San Francisco parks and boarding services. We work on basic commands and polite manners during our walks.
