Hello, I'm Josefina. I can also be reached at @sitdoggy23, where I post my IG and boarding/walking adventures. Prior to dog sitting, my pet care experience includes fostering rescues with Wonder Dog Rescue, Grateful Dogs Rescue and the SF/SPCA shelter. I also have experience as a volunteer dog walker at the SF/SPCA. I have experience working with dogs with a wide range of issues including: seniors, dogs with medical issues, including trauma and abuse/neglect. I have a special love for my work with fostering rescues, as well as walking shelter dogs. It’s an honor to have helped save the lives of many dogs. I currently work from home, have two children and prefer crate-trained dogs.

What started as a call to action and doing right by the furry friends in my life, this business was birthed from the trust and encouragement of my friends who had dogs and needed support. Fourteen years later, my team and I are ever grateful to have supported hundreds of pet owners, and made some life long friendships along the way. From Daycare support seven days a week, and Boarding overnight three hundred and sixty five a year, my passionate team is ready to support with your requested needs. If we're not the right person, we can certainly recommend someone who just might be.

Alyssa got her start pet-sitting then moved into working at a boarding and daycare facility managing play groups and taking dogs for off leash hike. She got a taste for dog behavior and never stopped seeking more knowledge. Alyssa has worked within the shelter world for upwards of 5 years, educating the public, the volunteers and the staff on safe animal care, animal welfare and enrichment and basic training principles. She enjoys working with dogs as they transition into new families or work through fear and confidence issues. Alyssa is very familiar with behavior challenges like fear, reactivity and aggression.

I always use Positive Reinforcement and Rewards-Based methods in all my training. Behavior Modification is always done using scientifically proven methods to modify, reshape or extinguish the unwanted behavior. I believe in being patient, compassionate, helping the dog to reshape its behavior at a comfortable pace for the dog, and doing it with confidence. That is where training you - the person - to train your dog, comes into my training philosophy.

Kayla Block, MA, CTC, founded Understanding Dog Training to help people and dogs understand each other better. Kayla is a graduate of the prestigious 2-year program at The Academy for Dog Trainers. Her business is focused on fear and aggression and she has a special heart for fearful dogs and leash reactivity.

Country Road Dog Grooming is a privately owned salon that specializes in positive grooming experiences for your pet. We provide calming environments and techniques to keep your fur baby healthy and happy. Our clientele mainly consists of rescue adoptions with a history of neglect and high anxiety towards grooming. I started dogsitting over 20 years ago and became a professional dogwalker when I moved to San Francisco in 2013. I opened Skalliwags Pet Care in 2015 and it's been pure joy getting paid for what I love to do! I do 2 group walks/beach hikes a day that our minimum 60 min each. Groups are on the smaller side to create an ideal environment for exercise and facilitated socialization. I accept dogs in Oakland in neighborhoods near Lake Merritt for Daycare Only
