Hello, I'm Josefina. I can also be reached at @sitdoggy23, where I post my IG and boarding/walking adventures. Prior to dog sitting, my pet care experience includes fostering rescues with Wonder Dog Rescue, Grateful Dogs Rescue and the SF/SPCA shelter. I also have experience as a volunteer dog walker at the SF/SPCA. I have experience working with dogs with a wide range of issues including: seniors, dogs with medical issues, including trauma and abuse/neglect. I have a special love for my work with fostering rescues, as well as walking shelter dogs. It’s an honor to have helped save the lives of many dogs. I currently work from home, have two children and prefer crate-trained dogs.

I’ve been working with dogs as a hobby for over 20 years. I grew up training my first dog in both obedience and agility, and I currently have three rescue dogs of my own. I love dogs, cats, and critters of all kinds! Wondering about the name? Gambit was one of my former dogs who has since crossed the rainbow bridge. Whenever she was being naughty, I would jokingly say “dog Gambit!” to her.

Although my business is newly established, I bring over 5 years of hands-on experience as a professional dog groomer. I have been a dog walker, sitter and have boarded dogs for over four years. I have taken care of senior dogs, large breed dogs, puppies and adolescents. I volunteered at an animal shelter where I took many dog handling workshops and am Fear Free certified and first aid CPR certified. I use a positive reinforcement, partnership based, compassionate tuning in approach when walking or otherwise interacting with dogs. I strive to meet the physical and emotional needs of animals through sufficient attention, affection, exercise, and exposure to nature.
