Hello, I'm Lisa, a CPDT (Certified Professional Dog Trainer). I worked for a decade in humane societies. I train via my own business. In the past, I've worked as a trainer at Wag Hotel (classes), Zoom Room (classes and private training) and most recently Peninsula Humane Society (classes and behavior consults). I use positive methods. I have loved animals all my life and feel a connection to dogs in particular. I have been training dogs professionally for 25 years and have been active in the rescue/shelter world for 30 years. I teach owners how to work with their dogs in a positive, fear-free environment and enhance the bond they have with their dog through consistent feedback and reinforcement. I work with dogs of all ages and breeds and have extensive knowledge with dogs that have behavioral concerns. On the flip side, I become the student when I attend workshops and seminars to learn new training methods. The field of animal behavior continues to evolve as well as our understanding of how animals learn.

Dog Grrl was started in 1997 by owner and operator Jenny Test. Dog Grrl thrived and grew into a doggie daycare space in San Francisco that offered small dog daycare, puppy socials with classes with Smarty Pup and a BnB style boarding facility in Healdsburg California. As the business grew so did the desire to help dogs overcome their fears and anxieties so Jenny went to the Academy for Dog Trainers offered at the SPCA and taught by Jean Donaldson. She has worked with countless dogs and their owners, helping them with manners training, behavior counseling, and separation anxiety. Khris is passionate about helping people and their dogs live together in harmony. She believes that well-trained dogs are happier dogs, and she enjoys helping people learn how to train their dogs to be well-behaved members of their families.
