Joyful Dog works one-on-one and in group classes with people and their dogs, teaching fun ways to live together with force-free tools and techniques for creative communication. We provide training in basic manners, behavioral problem-solving, puppy socialization, and a variety of special interests. Our positive approach includes Connection, Cooperation, and Control™, a curriculum founded on Suzanne Clothier’s Relationship Centered Training techniques, and Tellington TTouch® methods of body work and movement, to help dogs achieve physical and behavioral balance. We serve an online clientele, as well as in-person in Leesburg, Loudoun and western Fairfax counties in Virginia.

I have a sensitive spot for leash reactive dogs and have devoted extra studies and practice towards this area of dog training, but can help all dogs and all people with most issues and of course the basics! Polite Pooches offers group classes and private training sessions utilizing positive reinforcement, force free methods only. We offer puppy classes through advanced manners. All private sessions & group classes are held at our safe, quiet, clean training center in Forest Hill, MD. All of our trainers have achieved at least their CPDT-KA certification. We teach using humane methods, and go at a pace each dog is comfortable with.

My business name was chosen because that is what we're working with in order to help every dog- the inner dog, their brain. I've been helping dogs and their human companions for 17 years. I have been privileged to work with many dogs who, presenting with a wide variety of challenges, have taught me so much, each leaving me with a legacy to pass on in helping other dogs. Creating trust allows us to teach skills, change behaviors, thus creating that special partnership between our canine friends and their human companions.

Hi yall! I've been professionally walking dogs since 2017. After two years of working for another company I took the leap and started my own company in early 2019. I focus on giving dog owners happy, healthy and tired pups! I offer off leash, group hikes all over Redwood Regional Parks and across Oakland.

Cheryl specializes in successful puppy raising, but also helps guardians with other dog behavior challenges. She offers in-person and virtual private sessions as well as small group classes and Puppy Day School. Cheryl attended the Academy for Dog Trainers in 2002 and have been professionally teaching dogs and their humans ever since.

As a dog trainer, Lauren is passionate about demystifying canine behavior and making training fun! She believes that understanding and appreciating how dogs communicate with us is paramount to creating strong dog-human bonds and happy homes. Lauren specializes in working with reactive dogs and their humans. She also offers private training, training walks, and solo enrichment walks.
