Pawsitively Paws is a professional dog walking and pet sitting service in the Portland and Vancouver area. We offer on-leash private walks, group walks, cat and other small animal visits, and overnight sittings. Committed to using positive reinforcement techniques only!

The Fairy Dogfather is a certified dog trainer and behavior consultant who offers on-leash walks for San Franciscan dogs facing stress, reactivity, or heightened arousal. My approach is compassionate and rooted in the force-free and positive reinforcement movements. We go beyond a simple walk to create an empathetic and educational experience for your dog. Using applied behavior analysis and trauma-informed practices, I teach coping skills to reduce stress, improve self-regulation, and enrich their lives. Alyssa got her start pet-sitting then moved into working at a boarding and daycare facility managing play groups and taking dogs for off leash hike. She got a taste for dog behavior and never stopped seeking more knowledge. Alyssa has worked within the shelter world for upwards of 5 years, educating the public, the volunteers and the staff on safe animal care, animal welfare and enrichment and basic training principles. She enjoys working with dogs as they transition into new families or work through fear and confidence issues. Alyssa is very familiar with behavior challenges like fear, reactivity and aggression.

I started working in the pet care industry after I took in my grandfather's dog, Roxie. I worked in a small local pet shop, Sunset Pet Supply from 2014 - 2016. I learned all about animal nutrition and wellness. Then I moved into a dog walking position 2017 - 2018. I loved the dog walking so much, I decided to move on and start my own business. I wanted to be able to do more work to help the dogs and their pawrents!
